University of London External System Hosting Two Open Days in Trinidad June 26 and 27
Trinidad and Tobago (PRWEB) June 17, 2009 -- The University of London External System (http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/) is hosting two Open Days in Port of Spain on Friday June 26th and Saturday June 27th. Anyone who would like to find out about studying in Trinidad and Tobago for a University of London degree - and follow in the footsteps of The Honourable Arthur N. R. Robinson, the former president of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and a University of London alumnus - is welcome to attend. University of London academics and admission staff are going to be on hand to give advice about the study programmes available in Trinidad and Tobago, and making an application.
There are currently over 3,500 students in Trinidad and Tobago studying for a University of London degree via the External System and others interested in joining them can either drop into the Long Circular Mall on June 26th or visit the Crowne Plaza hotel on June 27th. Along with University of London staff, representatives from local colleges which offer tuition for University of London programmes in Trinidad and Tobago are participating in the Open Day at the Crowne Plaza hotel. The colleges include the School of Business and Computer Science (http://www.sbcs.edu.tt/mainMenu.html); Institute of Law and Academic Studies (http://www.ilastt.com/); K. Beckles Associates, Law Tutors; Academy of Tertiary Studies (http://www.atstnt.com/); and College of Legal Studies. The programmes they support range from undergraduate study in law, business, computing, economics, and geography to postgraduate study in banking, finance, law and management.
Also attending the event at the Crowne Plaza hotel is a panel of five University of London alumni, who are available to answer questions about their experiences of studying with the External System. Among them is Debra Coryat-Patton, an LLB graduate who now works for the US Department of State in Port of Spain.
Debra commented that "the University of London has a close affiliation with Trinidad and Tobago. A number of senior members of the legal fraternity here have successfully studied for a University of London LLB. The self-discipline that is required to undertake such a course and the ability to process and distil a large amount of information quickly in a concise and organised way, has served as the required foundation for my success and sustainability in my job."
